Type: 5. Frequency Grass hockey, which is otherwise called field hockey, is common in Canada, most frequent in New Zealand, but rare elsewhere (see Chart 1). It is Canadian in the North American context. Within Canada, the term is most frequently used in British Columbia (see Chart 2), where it is a term of long standing (see the 1916 quotation), followed by Quebec.
